Fabric Requirements

This pattern requires a 4-way stretch knit fabric with at least 50% horizontal and 50% vertical stretch, and excellent recovery. For swimwear, you will want a nylon spandex or poly spandex.
If you are making the bikini top or adding a built-in bra, your fabric choice is very important for the level of support you are going for. If you want a bra with a high level of support, you will want to choose a heavier weight fabric with a higher spandex content. You may also consider cutting a layer of power net or similar supportive fabric to sandwich in between layers.
Measurements are in yards and based on 56” wide fabric. Yardage assumes that your fabric has been prewashed and preshrunk. Extra fabric may be required for matching prints, directional fabric, or if you need to add length.
