Starfish Wearable Blanket Tester Round-up!

Starfish Wearable Blanket Tester Round-up!

A few months ago, my friend Christy sent me this funny IG post about a crocheted blanket in the shape of a star. My oldest daughter crochets, and thought it was funny. But I saw that, and thought: 'Hold my beer! That would make a fabulous pattern!'

In typical designer fashion, what I thought would be fairly quick and easy, was in fact, tedious and difficult. Two months, a chaotic life without enough time to focus, and the sacrifice of many Walmart fleece throws, I had an adorable Starfish Blanket! And an adorable model! My baby is now fully into adult sizes. This is the size Adult XXS/XS.

Word to the wise - plaids are hard to match with a pattern this big lol. The Starfish is unisex AND goes from a Kids Size 2/3 to an Adult 4XL/5XL! If you're thinking, hey wait, doesn't Rivet design for women? Generally, yes, because I design what I like to wear, and I don't have any kid sized models anymore. However, I couldn't NOT include kids in this one!

Ready to see all the snuggly awesomeness? Let's go!

Ruth made two in a size Kid 2/3 for her kiddos. She used a double sided minky/squish for both. Sounds like wearing a squishy cloud!

Maya made three versions for her kiddos. Size Kid 2/3 (owls) in plush, Kid 4/5 (ducks) in fleece, and Kid 6/7 (Stitch) in fleece. Whew!

Jesara made a Kid 4/5 for her little one in a fleece. You should check the FB group for her dance video. I promise it will make you smile!

Ashley made two versions, one for her each of her boys. She made sizes Kid 4/5 and 8/10. They are so delightfully cute!

Jenni also has a kid that's crossed over into the smallest adult sizes! She made a size Adult XXS/XS for her son in a fleece from her Joann going-out-of-business stock up. RIP Joann.

Jessica made a size Adult S/M for her daughter out of fleece. She says it gives Lisa Frank vibes, and I AGREE!

Ada Marie made a size Adult S/M out of fleece throws. A very good choice for the smaller sizes!

Melissa got a screaming deal on fleece at her cool local store and went all out. She wears a size Adult S/M. The maroon on the right is a larger size (it's a gift!). She also made one other version not shown here because it was the smallest size (also a gift!) and a little snug in the trunk. Do you spot the doggy photobomber?

Tasha made a size Adult L/XL with a repurposed fleece King sized blanket. The biggest victory was stealing it back from her oldest daughter, who snagged it right off the bat!

Amy made a size Adult L/XL out of Sew Lush. Sounds very luxurious!

Tine made a size Adult 2XL/3XL out of fleece. Think of all the leaf romping that could be done!

That's all for now! I'm so grateful to all of these lovely people for finding time in their hectic holiday schedules to make some silly stars. I hope these onesies bring you as much joy as they do me.

Here's that link again for the Starfish Wearable Blanket! In case you need one for Christmas cookie eating. Or your family or friends do. Might make a lovely NYE's outfit if you celebrate like I do.

We would LOVE to see your Starfishes! Please be sure to share your makes in the Rivet Patterns Facebook Group!

Happy Holidays, everyone!
